Creating a sense of place by extending public art motifs into functional streetscape elements

Part of the Studio F Minus’ collaboration with the City of Burlington, SFM designed art interventions to be woven into the streetscape surrounding City Hall and the Portal sculpture. The artworks are dichroic stripes that reflect and animate light, and use the area bus shelters as frames. These artworks extend the visual language of Portal out into the city, and create a distinct visual identity for the area.
